ST. JUST WEDDING.
A quiet but interesting wedding took
place at the Wesleyan Church on Tues-
day morning, the contracting parties
being Mr. Henry Thomas Hattam, of the
Metropolitan Police Force, Hornsey,
eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Hattam
(formerly of Higher Bosavern, St. Just),
and Miss Alice Maud Osborne, eldest
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Os-
borne, formerly of St. Levan and San-
creed. The ceremony was performed by
the Rev. T. Little. The bride, who was
given away by her uncle, Mr. G. Barna-
coat, was tastefully attired in a costume
of cream serge, with Georgette hat of
nigger and tomato. Mr. H. Hattam,
cousin of the bridegroom, acted as best
man. There was a large gathering at the
church. Miss Osborne had been on the
staff of the Cape Cornwall Girls' School
for 10 1/2 years, and in addition to other
friends, a large number of the teachers
and scholars assembled in the church.
Following the wedding a reception was
held at Mrs. Davy's, Princess Street,
where the guests returned for luncheon,
afterwards enjoying a drive to the Land's
End, in the car supplied by the West
Penwith Motor Company.
Mr. and Mrs. Hattam left for their
honeymoon at 4.45 p.m. The bride's tra-
velling costume was of grey tweed. Mr.
H. T. Hattam served through the war
with the Buckinghamshire Territorials,
and was well known in St. Just; while
Miss Osborne had been a most energetic
worker in the Wesley Guild, and both
were the recipients of some beautiful
gifts, one much valued, being the case
of silver tea-spoons, presented to the
bride by the scholars and staff of the
Cape Cornwall Girls' School. The happy
pair found congratulatory telegrams
awaiting them on their return from
church, and have the best wishes of a
large circle of friends for their future
happiness.

The death took place at Escalls on
Saturday of Mr William Thomas
Wearne, who had farmed at Escalls
for many years. The funeral took
place at Escalls Methodist Chapel on
Monday, Rev W N Warren offi-
ciating. Mrs H Williams was organ-
ist.
